Young University Rankings 2018
The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings list the world’s best universities that are aged 50 years or under.? The 2018 ranking includes 250 universities, up from 200 in 2017.
The table is based on the same 13 performance indicators as the flagship 色盒直播 World University Rankings, but the weightings have been adjusted to give less weight to reputation.
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is the world’s best young university for the first time in 2018, thanks to improvements to its teaching environment, research environment, citation impact and international outlook.
Switzerland’s ?cole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, which topped the list for three years in a row, has dropped to second place, while Nanyang Technological University in Singapore holds on to third place.

Overall, the table features a high number of institutions focused on engineering and technology; such universities claim six of the top 10 places.
While the UK does not have any institutions in the top 40, it is the most-represented country overall with 31 universities, four more than last year. Australia is second with 22 universities, led by the University of Technology, Sydney in 16th place.
Overall, 55 countries across Europe, Australasia, Asia, North America, Latin America and Africa feature in the seventh annual edition of the table, up from 48 last year.
