Kebri Dehar University was established in 2015, in the city of Kebri Dehar, in South Eastern Ethiopia. Its first cohort of undergraduates matriculated in 2017.
Set on a verdant campus, the university is comprised of nine colleges, including: dry-land agriculture; business and economics; education and behavioural studies; social science and humanities; and veterinary medicine. These colleges offer degrees ranging from agribusiness and natural-resource management to history and heritage management.
Kebri Dehar also runs research and community-service projects, including knowledge-sharing activities, intended to improve the lives of communities local to the campus. An active Student Association runs events for students, including talks on studying overseas.
