Founded in 2007, Kateb University is based in the capital and largest city of Afghanistan, Kabul.
Kateb held its first university entrance test in 2007 and just 350 students were admitted to Kateb University. Now, thousands of students annually attend.
At Kateb University, students can gain undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degrees within a wide variety of faculties, including: law, engineering, political science, economics, medicine, education management, sociology and computer science.
To supplement students' classes, there¡¯s the Kateb University law clinic, which was founded in 2017. The clinic focuses on teaching law students in both theoretical and practical sectors of law and defense advocacy.
There¡¯s also the Faiz Mohammad Kateb Hospital, which provides practical work experience opportunities for medical students from Kateb and other universities in the area.
Kateb University has two branches in the capital, Kabul, and the faculties are spread across them. The main branch is situated in Darulaman road, across from Habibia High School and the other branch is situated in Shahid Mazari Road, Haji Nawroz Square.
On campus, students have a library and modern computer laboratories.
From debating and books to ping pong and music, there a range of student societies on offer.
Sports are also a large part of student life at Kateb University, whether students want to take part recreationally or competitively. There are more than 10 active sports teams at Kateb University who participate in inter-collegiate contests and other national and international sports competitions.
