The Times Higher Education China Subject Ratings 2020 measures university performance based on the Chinese Ministry of Education’s classification of subjects.
The ratings for agriculture reveal performance across nine subjects: agricultural resources and environment; animal husbandry; aquatic production and aquatic science; crop science; forestry science and forestry; grass science and turf grass science; horticulture; plant protection; and veterinary science.
In total, 489 universities worldwide receive a rating for at least one subject in the agriculture pillar.
Five universities achieve an A+ grade in all nine of the agriculture subjects, while Zhejiang University is the top-performing institution in mainland China.
