The first television advert to be broadcast in Gaelic will promote Scotland's newest university. Scottish viewers of Channel 4 and Five will see "Think UHI" adverts for the prospective University of the Highlands and Islands, in both English and Gaelic. The adverts are to be shown for the next three weeks, and come after UHI was instructed by the Scottish government to develop a Gaelic language plan. "Whether you can understand Gaelic or not, our advert will bring it to the attention of thousands of people through one of the most powerful communication media," said James Fraser, principal of UHI.
