TOP MARKS ART. Top Marks 95 is a new show featuring the work of students who were awarded first-class honours degrees the London Institute's five colleges. ASPECTS OF PRISONS Stephen Tumim, Her Majest's chief inspector of prisons, will lecture on "Aspects of Prisons" in Lecture Theatre 1 of the New Building, Leicester University, at 8pm on October 20.

MAKING OUR OWN HISTORY A one-day international conference on "African-Centred Research - A Way Forward 'Making our own History'", organised by the African-Centred Research Group at the University of Sheffield, will take place on October 28. Kete Molife Asante, professor from Temple University, United States, has been invited to participate.

LOOKING AHEAD The United Kingdom Centre for European Education has organised the 17th national CEE conference on "European Co-operation in Education: Looking Ahead", in Senate House, University of London, on November 7. ENERGY CONSCIOUS HOMES The Royal Society Lecture will be given by Jake Chapman and George Henderson on "How Energy Conscious is your 色盒直播?" on November 23 at 6pm.

Energy ratings on each home have now been developed, providing clear guidance on energy performance of properties.

Applications should also reach The Royal Society by October 30 for tickets to attend "The Current Status of Semiconductor Tunnelling Devices" to be held on November 8 and 9. The whole subject of tunnelling in semiconductors will be reviewed - the physics, design, fabrication, performance and manufacturability of tunnel devices and circuits.
