Yessenov University is located in city of Aktau at the eastern shores of the Caspian Sea.
The university traces its history back to the 1970s when it was initially founded as a technical faculty of the Kazak Polytechnic institute. The university received official accreditation in 2018, and currently offers undergraduate, graduate and PhD programmes in multiple disciplines ranging from engineering and law to subjects like marine studies and tourism.
The student government offers students the opportunity to engage with the university while the student recreation centre offers extracurricular and social activities.
The university is home to the Yessenov Language Centre and the Caspian Entrepreneurship Centre. There is also Mangystau, an open-air nature museum, a cinema hall, conference rooms and medical support centre.
The university is part of student exchange programmes such as Erasmus+, DAAD and Mevlana.
The university has established partnerships with 129 universities across the world including Azerbaijan Technical University, Beykent University (Turkey) and University of Gabrovo (Bulgaria).
