对于 University of Hyderabad
The University of Hyderabad (UoH), one of the major institutions of higher education in India, is largely devoted to postgraduate studies and is known for its research and distinguished faculty. Founded in 1974 with Professor Gurbaksh Singh as its first vice-chancellor, UoH – also known as Hyderabad Central University (HCU) – has emerged as a centre of teaching and research. With more than 40 different departments and centres organised in 12 schools of study, the university has more than 400 faculty and more than 5,000 students. The university offers close to 145 different programmes of study ranging from doctoral studies to master’s level degrees, as well as a range of postgraduate diplomas and short term courses by distance learning. It also has a thriving five-year integrated master’s programme. The university hosts an ever-increasing number of foreign scholars on its study in India programme. UoH has been recognised through a number of awards including PURSE, given by the prime minister of India, and a grading of A, which is the highest, by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). UoH was one of the first universities in the country recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as a University with Potential for Excellence (UPE). We have recently been selected for Phase 2 of this award.
