对于 University of Evansville
The University of Evansville (UE) is a private university affiliated to the United Methodist Church. It is located in Evansville, Indiana.
The university was founded in 1864 as the Moores Hill Male and Female Collegiate Institute. It relocated to Evansville in 1919 and became the University of Evansville in 1967.
More than 80 undergraduate majors are offered at Evansville. Students unsure about which path they want to go down can take the Major Discovery Program, working one-on-one with a faculty advisor to explore which major is right for them.
UE has four academic divisions: the William L Ridgway College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education and Health Sciences, the College of Engineering and Computer Science and the Schroeder School of Business.
Teaching at UE is carried out by professional academics, with no classes taken by graduate teaching assistants.
Evansville is known as one of the most international of all regional colleges in the United States, with about 80 per cent of students studying abroad. Many of those attend UE’s satellite campus in Grantham, England, a historic town surrounded by green countryside. Others take part in programmes in Italy, England, New Zealand, France, Mexico, Spain, Russia, Israel, the Netherlands or Australia. Additionally, 15 per cent of UE’s students come from other countries.
UE’s Purple Aces athletic teams compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Evansville is Indiana’s third largest city, and located near Nashville (two hours away) and Indianapolis (three hours by car).
