A university’s international outlook can be key to its success in global rankings – the world’s leading universities draw in the top academic and student talent from a global pool and they collaborate with the best research teams, wherever in the world they happen to be based, in order to push the boundaries of knowledge.
So among the 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators used to create the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, we include three specific measures of “international outlook”. These look at the proportion of international students at each university, the proportion of international faculty, and the proportion of an institution’s research papers that are published with at least one author from another country.
Based purely on these three equally weighted indicators, here is the list of the world’s top 10 most international universities.
