More than 150 universities from across the Middle East and North Africa have submitted data to Times Higher Education to participate in a new ranking focused on the Arab region.

The inaugural 色盒直播 Arab University Rankings will include 155 universities across 15 countries, from Algeria to the United Arab Emirates.

More than half of these institutions and three of these nations (Bahrain, Libya and Palestine) did not feature in the latest World University Rankings, meaning that the new table will provide 色盒直播’s most comprehensive assessment of higher education in the region to date.

The vast majority of universities will be ranked but a small number will have “reporter” status, meaning that they provided data but did not meet our eligibility criteria to receive a rank.

The results will be launched on 27 July at a .

The methodology behind the ranking includes 16 metrics – the 13 metrics that are used in our World University Rankings methodology (with some adaptions to better reflect the Arab region, such as a regional reputation survey) and three new metrics. The new metrics include two indicators based on participation and performance in our Impact Rankings and a measure of research collaboration between universities in the Arab world.

The participation criteria for the Arab ranking are also less strict than those for the World University Rankings.
