对于 Cazenovia College
A four year liberal arts college based in the town of Cazenovia in New York state, Cazenovia college was established in 1824. It is one of the smallest higher learning institutions on the eastern seaboard, with around 1000 students studying at any one time. The campus is around 18 miles away from Syracuse, the fourth largest city in New York.
Cazenovia is split into four divisions; Art & Design, Business & Management, Humanities & Natural Sciences, and Social & Behavioural Sciences. One of the most renowned courses is Visual Communications, which is split into five separate degree programmes and organises trips to New York city to experience advertising and design sectors as well as meeting with industry professionals. Another specialised course is Human Services, in which students can focus on particular areas such as substance abuse treatment or mental health counselling.
Also offered within the Social & Behavioural Sciences faculty is the bachelor’s degree in international studies. Here students are educated in geo-political issues in the world today, and are required to reach a conversational level in at least one foreign language. Internships as part of the course may be taken abroad or within the United States.
Sports teams are known as the Wildcats, and Cazenovia is member of the NCAA Division III, participating in women’s basketball, lacrosse, soccer, softball, cross country, and volleyball; and men’s baseball, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, and cross country.
Some of the most well known people to have studied at Cazenovia are four time Academy Award winning composer Jimmy Van Heusen, and Leland Stanford, the tycoon and industrialist who would co-found Stanford University.
