The latest 2016-17?Times Higher Education?World University Rankings included 980 of the world’s most prestigious institutions, ranked according to 13 separate indicators, drawn from institutional data, 56 million citations to 11.9 million research papers including more than half a million books and book chapters, and the results of a survey of more than 20,000 scholars in 133 different countries. It was the most authoritative and comprehensive university rankings exercise ever undertaken.

During the bibliometric research phase for the 色盒直播 World University Rankings 2016-17,?conducted by Elsevier, a single physics paper was missed in exceptional circumstances. This paper was a massive file size and?the automated upload process?rejected it without notification, in a one-off error that has now been corrected. The missing paper is now included in the Scopus data used to calculate the World University Rankings and?the 色盒直播 data team has created an estimate of the impact of this paper’s inclusion. The only institution significantly affected by this change is the National Research Nuclear University?MEPhI, Moscow,?which will now take joint 84th?position in the Physical Sciences subject ranking, in line with our corrections policy. This change does not affect any other institutions, who retain their original positions.
