Study in The Czech Republic

The landlocked nation of the Czech Republic, also known as Czechia, is picturesque country in central Europe. As well as its renowned universities, located across the nation and providing exceptional educational opportunities, a steady influx of young tourists from across the European continent and beyond sustains the country’s vibrant reputation as a lively, youthful destination.

This is epitomised, perhaps, by the Karlovy lázně in capital city Prague, a five floor venue and the largest club in central Europe.

Prague is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world, with buildings of Gothic and Baroque design in a compact city centre that also contains buildings dating to Prague’s time as the capital of the Holy Roman Empire. There is a multitude of higher learning institutions in the city, including the Charles University, the oldest and largest university in the nation, which teaches a number of its degree programmes in English.

The Czech Republic also has an enviable reputation for its variety of homegrown beers. These include Budweiser Budvar, which has been locked in a century of copyright dispute with the American label of the same name. Pilsner Urquell was first brewed in Pilsen in 1842 was the original "blond lager". This type of lager now accounts for two thirds of all beer produced worldwide.

Famous people hailing from the Czech Republic include film director Milos Forman, author Franz Kafka, "father of genetics" Gregor Mendel, and former US Secretary of State Madeline Albright.
