Results in full: Top universities with the best student to staff ratio?
The universities with the best student-to-staff ratios have been revealed, using data from the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
With a ratio of 1.1 students per member of staff, Oregon Health and Science University takes the first place in the table. Saitama Medical University in Japan takes second place, with 1.5 students per staff member, while the third, fourth and fifth place universities - Rush University, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and Jikei University School of Medicine - all have a ratio of about 2:1.
All of the universities in the top five are specialist universities with fewer than 3,000 students. However, universities with larger student populations such as Johns Hopkins University and Duke University (about 15,000 students each) both make it into the league table, with ratios of 3.5 and 4.8 students per member of staff respectively.?
The US is the most highly represented country in the table with 32 universities in total. Japan comes in second with a total of 26 universities. Noticeably, some countries that regularly feature in Times Higher Education rankings such as the UK, Australia and Canada, are absent from the top 100 list.?
To be eligible, universities must feature in the 色盒直播 World University Rankings, which include about 1,000 institutions.?
