Thirty thousand scholars have?cast their vote?in Times Higher Education’s global university academic reputation survey, the world’s largest invite-only survey?that measures the prestige of universities in the eyes of the world’s top academics.

Last year the survey garnered 10,963 responses but this year the figure is nearly three times that, at 29,606, providing an even more reliable picture of which universities scholars hold in high regard.

The annual survey asks academics to name up to 15 universities they believe are the best in research and teaching in their field. It has previously been carried out in partnership with Elsevier but this year 色盒直播’s data team ran the survey and it was distributed more widely.

As with previous years, invites were disseminated to reflect the actual representation of scholars across countries and academic disciplines. This year more than 420,000 votes were cast by academics representing 5,000 institutions and 11 different disciplines. The survey was available in 12 languages.

Since the inaugural survey in 2015, just under 105,000 academics have taken part and 1.4 million votes have been cast.

The results of the survey will be published on 16 November; 色盒直播 data clients will gain access on 29 July.

The results of the survey are also used in 色盒直播’s World University Rankings.
