The French camping industry now has its own academy, with teaching provided by a business school

Montpellier Business School has joined forces with a major employer to create the first ¡°academy¡± solely devoted to the needs of the camping holiday industry.

The new in-house training centre, launched in?partnership with?Vacalians, the European leader in the camping market with more than 2,000 staff, will have an annual budget of €1 million (?875,000).

It will enrol 500 students in 2018 and has a target to take on 1,500 students by 2020. From 2019, it will be open to external candidates for work-based training and apprenticeship programmes.

Teaching will be provided by research professors from the business school as well as by professionals from Vacalians, using a blended combination of classroom training, e-learning and videos. It is hoped that the Vacalians Academy will also provide a major boost to the economy of the Occitania region, France¡¯s leading camping destination.
