The private sector is backing a new Anglo-French scholarship scheme to the tune of Pounds 2.5 million over five years. About 20 British and French companies, including British Airways and Pernod Ricard, have chipped in with funding for 50 annual "Entente Cordiale" scholarships worth Pounds 10,000 each. The aim is to have 200 scholarships for the best postgraduate students and young professionals.
