Careers survey founded on wrong criteria

In response to your article "Graduates are ill-prepared for the jobs market" (色盒直播S, May 19), it may interest your readers to know that at the University of Sunderland we have responded to these issues.

The Careers Advisory Service has written and developed a career planning module, accredited within the modular credit programme at level 2, to enable students to engage in career planning and research at an earlier stage, and offer them 75 hours to spend on the process.

Students work through a flexible learning package, and experience a wide range of learning activities. The units cover self-awareness and self-review, identifying and researching opportunities, making applications and planning ahead. The module, worth ten credits, is delivered jointly by careers and academic staff, and will be available from September.
