Frank Furedi claims to know what the Institute for Learning and Teaching thinks ("They sign on, turn up but fail to tune in", 色盒直播S, May 3), although he is not a member.
We have more than 10,000 members, and it would be ridiculous to purport to identify a single viewpoint on a complex issue. He is right when he suggests that many members favour student-centred teaching, but wrong when he interprets the stance of our members as being about giving students an easy ride.
One might expect Furedi to base his comments on a knowledge of the organisation.
